QA checklist for display ads (HTML5 / static)
Use this before anything gets trafficked.
1) Specs & packaging
- Correct sizes (px), correct formats (JPG/PNG/GIF/HTML5)
- File weight within limits
- Correct naming convention (campaign, size, version)
2) Click behaviour
- Clickthrough works on all clickable elements (as required)
- Correct landing URL + tracking (UTMs)
- No accidental double-click areas
3) Animation & timing (HTML5)
- Animation length within platform policy
- Loop rules followed (e.g., stop after X loops if required)
- No jarring flashing / rapid transitions
4) Rendering
- Fonts load correctly (or safe fallbacks)
- Images crisp (not stretched)
- Copy fits across browsers/devices
5) Compliance & claims
- Legal line present where required
- Claims substantiated (don’t imply what you can’t prove)
- Correct trademark usage
6) Edge cases
- Missing image/video fallback behaviour
- Slow connection behaviour
- Final frame makes sense (brand + CTA)
